Motorola MVME147 Board

The MVME147, a single-board computer (SBC), was the first system from Motorola to implement a 68030 CPU. The MVME147 itself is a single-height 6U VME board. This board was equipped with most of the I/O needed for full computer functionality, including RS232, Ethernet and SCSI. The external I/O was implemented via the P2-VME connector at the back of the board which became standard in the following MVME1x7 CPU boards. Several breakouts were available, Motorola's 712 boards were the most widely used ones.
The MVME147 boards and also clones were popular and widely used. The board configuration and component will vary depending on the generation.

• Intel MC68882 Floating-point co-processor (16, 25 or 33.33 MHz)
• AMD AM7990 Lance 10Mb Ethernet MAC controller
• Intel LXT901 Ethernet Serial Interface Adapter (SIA)
• WD33C93B narrow SE SCSI bus controller
• 8-bit bidirectional parallel interface provided by Programmable Channel Controller (PCC, an ASIC implementation)
• 8530 provides four serial channels
• MVME6000AC VME Bus controller
• MK48T02 Non-Volatile RAM and clock chip
• PCCchip ASIC Programmable Channel Controller (provides interface to I/O-chips)
• GCCchip ASIC General Control Chip (general on board functions and interfaces)
• Four 32-pin EPROM sockets for 1M x 8 EPROMs.

Memory

• From 4MB to 32MB with DRAM modules.

VME

• VMEchip ASIC provides VME interface
• The VME-I/O is implemented via the P1 connector

Misc

• 4 Status LEDs (FAIL, STAT, RUN, SCON)
• 2 switches (RESET and ABORT).
